Social Media Marketing Associate

Part-Time (18.5 Hrs/Week)

Hourly Rate: $25.87 - $28.52

Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for the following:

Content Creation

  • Create, publish and monitor compelling social media content for Jewish Federation, the Jewish Community Foundation, and all of our community engagement programs. (Includes writing and graphic design in Canva.)
  • Support our mission and ensure brand consistency.
  • Identify the appropriate channel for each message and adjust for each platform.
  • Maintain a monthly social media calendar and use a content management system to schedule and publish.
  • Execute campaigns on time and on budget.
  • Provide a high level of service both within the department and with stakeholders in our organization.
  • Community Growth and Engagement
  • Grow our unique and varied communities on multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more.
  • Increase engagement and interactivity with a wide range of target audiences for Jewish Federation and each of our sub-brands and programs.
  • Respond effectively to questions and comments.
  • Advise managers of issues and recommend solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of the social media strategy with the Manager, Marketing and Communications and in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Support crisis communications efforts as needed.

Performance Measurement

  • Monitor the latest trends and changes across platforms, implement best practices, and advise how best to adjust our strategy.
  • Monitor and track KPIs.
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of paid campaigns.
  • Identify and capitalize on gaps and opportunities to drive increased success.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, plus a minimum of one year of experience in a similar role, either in-house or at an agency.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple social media accounts and advertising platforms including Facebook ads manager and building effective targeted audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and innovative.
  • Experience creating compelling graphics and videos in Canva.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Power Point.

  • Knowledge of or interest in the Jewish community. (You don’t have to be Jewish to work here.)
  • Experience or interest in not-for-profit sector.

Flexible Work Week

  • This is a half-time role (18.5 hours/week)
  • Flexible days/hours are available
  • Specific hours will be dedicated to certain stakeholders’ work.
  • Position is based in our Vancouver office. A hybrid schedule is available.
  • Availability required for some evening and Sunday events.
