Gallery Manager
P/T Permanent (20 hours)

The Sidney and Gertrude Zack Gallery, located within the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver is seeking a Gallery Manager to curate exhibits, engage the community, organize openings, manage the day to day operations and contribute to the strategic direction of the Art Gallery.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Programs, the right candidate will have experience as a curator as well as experience in artist management and program development. The successful candidate will possess strong oral and written comprehension and expression, creativity, and an ability to work collaboratively. Budget management and donor development and stewardship are involved. Hours are flexible. Some evening work is required.

Key responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the gallery including the volunteer docent program.
Solicit proposals, work with a jury to set the Gallery’s exhibition schedule, curate exhibits and manage artists.
Organize and be involved in installations.
Work collaboratively to develop and manage the Gallery’s annual budget.
Work collaboratively to Identify and develop grant proposals.
Establish and cultivate partnerships and donors.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Gallery and its role within the greater Jewish Community Centre.
Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, aligning with the gallery’s mission and goals.
Engage with the community members and JCC programs.

Qualifications:
University degree in a relevant area.
Demonstrated success with budgeting & resources management.
Grant-acquisition experience.
Experience in the non-profit sector is preferred.
Strong network-building skills with community partners and funders.
