Yom HaZikaron 2020

Yom HaZikaron Memorial | April 27, 2020

Every year, our community gathers on Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Day of Remembrance) to honour Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terrorist attacks. And while we’re unable to gather in person this year as originally planned, we are instead organizing a virtual ceremony on Zoom to ensure our community can again mark this special day together

Please join us on Monday, April 27, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. for our annual commemoration, which will be led by Geoffrey Druker, chair of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs – Pacific Region and chair of Jewish Federation’s Yom HaZikaron Committee. Our remembrance will follow the traditional Israeli Yom HaZikaron format, with poems, readings, songs and a moment of silence.

Virtual Candlelighting for Fallen Loved Ones | April 26-28, 2020

There will also be a mini-site designated for Vancouver – Vancouver Community Remembers,  where people can add their fallen loved ones and light candles. The site will be on for 72 hours from April 26th to 28th.

The mini-site will open on April 26th.
