For nearly two decades, Jewish Federation has provided financial assistance and support for thousands of local young adults who go on Birthright Israel trips, thanks to the generosity of donors who give through the Annual Campaign. Each trip offers a 10-day educational tour of Israel, available free of charge to Jewish young adults aged 18-32. For many participants, Birthright Israel trips are life-changing.  

When young adults come home, our goal is to harness their enthusiasm and engage them in the local Jewish community. We do this through one-on-one mentorship meetings with our Israel follow-up coordinator and by helping them connect with their peers at initiatives like the Birthright Israel Mega Event.

One Night of Tel Aviv in Vancouver
The Birthright Israel Mega Event is an annual celebration that draws over 300 Jewish young adults to dance the night away and enjoy other fun activities. The party is a great way for Birthright Israel alumni to reconnect and share their experiences with other young adults interested in the program.

The theme of this year’s celebration is Tel Aviv, and we are excited to partner with the World Zionist Organization for ParTyLV (party-tel-aviv). Highlights include matkot (Israeli beach paddle ball), arak tastings, make-your-own malabi, graffiti art and, of course, a live DJ and bar.

Our event co-hosts, Axis Vancouver and Hillel BC, will also be there to share opportunities for young adults to explore their Jewish identity, alongside the World Zionist Organization’s North America Department of Diaspora Activities and CIE: Birthright Israel.
