Moishe is in the House!

Exciting news for 20-somethings - Moishe House has opened its doors in Vancouver! The first in Canada, Moishe House Vancouver is part the world-wide network of informal hubs for Jewish 20-somethings. These houses are home to Jewish-minded 20-somethings who actively engage their peers through casual programming. Residents build local, home-based communities, and lead ongoing creative, welcoming Jewish programming.

A vibrant group of young adults – Baruch, Kiki, Jacob and Rotem – are now living together in a home in East Vancouver, Moishe House. Located between Fraser and Main, Moishe House is centrally located in a neighborhood where more and more young Jewish adults are moving. Together, the group organizes five to six events each month, ranging from Shabbat dinners, to sporting events, book clubs and more.

The house fills a much needed programming gap for young adults, providing opportunities for Jewish 20-somethings with a broad spectrum of interests to connect with one another. Eventually, Moishe House will enlist the support of other people to plan events in order to continuously create innovative new ideas and experiences.

Jewish Federation is proud to support Moishe House Vancouver and provide opportunities like this for Jewish young adults to connect with our community.
