Role Overview

Jewish Addiction Community Services (JACS) Vancouver has recently merged with Jewish Family Services (JFS) to form a new Jewish Addiction and Mental Health Services Division within JFS.

JFS is seeking a Director of Jewish Addiction and Mental Health Services to mentor, coach, support and inspire team members, colleagues and partners and to collaborate on providing services to community members impacted by addiction and mental health challenges. Reporting to the CEO, the Director will be guided by the core elements that have been established by JFS and JACS and will have an instrumental role in shaping the trajectory of the full roll-out of the new program; including core services, staffing, integration with other divisions of JFS and relationships with key community partners.

JFS supports and empowers over 3,000 community members annually. For many years, JACS has played a pivotal community role in providing informed service, guidance, education and recovery services for families and individuals who struggle with substance use. By integrating its experience and expertise into JFS’ robust program and service delivery, families and individuals challenged by addictions and mental health will have access to a more fulsome, holistic approach to healing. What You Will Do
Service Delivery – Counselling and Support
• In collaboration with the executive team, develop, and implement one-on-one and group support services for individuals and their loved ones who are grappling with addiction and mental health issues
• Define and implement the organizational supports, policies, processes, and structures required for the delivery of accessible, holistic service to clients
• Provide clinical and operational supervision to staff
Service Delivery – Education and Awareness
• Strengthen and expand relationships with key community partners, relevant professionals, community leaders
• Build and orchestrate delivery of an array of education and/or training events tailored to both the community at large and key front-line professionals
Leadership & Administration
• Ensure program criteria, descriptions, objectives, documentation and communication are established, maintained and reported (internal KPIs, legislative requirements)
• Provide leadership including recruitment and management of the team
• Develop, monitor, and manage the annual program budget and expenditures
What You Will Bring to the Job
• Masters Degree, in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or other similar advanced clinical degree in addiction or mental health field
• A member of a College of Regulated Health Professionals
• Excellent knowledge of Mental Health Act and community mental health resources
• Extensive experience in the field of addiction, mental health, trauma
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Expert-knowledge in program development, administrative principles and evaluation techniques
• Demonstrated ability to think and act with strategic and tactical agility and lead change
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Innovative mindset
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle; must be willing to travel when required

What You Will Receive
• Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace
• The salary range for this role is $91,000-$98,000 for a full-time position; 35 hours per week

Vaccination Policy
JFS requires that all employees and volunteers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Anyone hired after January 1, 2022 will be required to show evidence that they have received at least one dose of the vaccine prior to employment, and we will require that they be fully vaccinated within 30 days of their start date.
