The VHEC’s community-wide Yom HaShoah commemorative evening includes singers and musicians representing multiple generations, who add to the evening through songs of remembrance and prayers. This significant commemorative program brings together Holocaust survivors, successive generations, the wider Jewish community, diverse cultural groups and public officials including elected members of governments.
Child Holocaust survivor, Lillian Boraks-Nemetz was born in Warsaw, Poland. As a child, she was incarcerated in the Warsaw Ghetto for eighteen months. She then hid under a false identity until the war was over. Lillian will share her personal experiences. The event is free and everyone is welcome.
