The Jewish Museum and Archives of BC is pleased to announce the completion of our latest major community history project, East End Stories.

This series of six short films chronicles the founding and growth of the Jewish community in the historically important neighbourhood of Strathcona. Through these films, we witness how a disparate group of immigrants built a thriving community complete with schools, a synagogue, charitable institutions, and flourishing businesses, all while contributing in countless ways to the growth of Vancouver as a whole.

East End Stories will live on as a monument to our community’s founders through these six films, a supporting study guide for secondary students, and six information panels mounted at historically significant sites throughout Strathcona.
