With a welcome from Dan Ruimy, MP for Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge; blessings and Kiddush by local community members; and music by an Israeli musician, this was a Shabbat to remember. Children and teens had a great time doing activities led by our shinshinim (teen volunteer emissaries from Israel), Maya and Diana.
While Jews have lived in the Fraser Valley for over 100 years, young families seeking lower housing prices farther and farther east from the City of Vancouver has led to significant growth in the area’s Jewish population over the last 10 years. Connect Me In has an increasingly active presence in the area, including a bi-weekly Hebrew School in Fort Langley, holiday programs and parties, and seniors’ events.

Shabbrunch
What do you get when you cross Shabbat and brunch? Why, Shabbrunch, of course. This casual, come-as-you-are potluck Kiddush and talk took place in Mission. This particular Shabbrunch was primarily for adults, but others have welcomed families. Either way, Shabbrunch is always a hit.
