Building the Community of Our Future

In the fall of 2014 Jewish Federation began a consultative process to examine our strategic priorities.

We explored and sought input on all aspects of Jewish Federation’s work in the coming years. Different segments of our diverse community were engaged in conversations about the things we care about and the kind of community we want to build for the future. They shared their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities our growing community faces, and how we at Jewish Federation can incorporate their ideas in planning for 2020 and beyond.

Over the past 10 years, the Jewish community in Greater Vancouver has experienced significant changes to our youth and seniors populations, geographic dispersal, and people’s changing ties to community life. This phenomenon is expected to continue based on recent data generated through the National Household Survey (formerly the long form census). Our board is committed to ensuring that our strategic priorities reflect our community’s broad diversity, and take into account new and emerging community needs.
