Thank You & Todah Rabbah!

A Message from our Campaign Chair

Dear Chaverim,

This year, we set out to turn community challenges into community connections. Donors across our community helped Jewish Federation and our partners address issues that affect us all. We are deeply grateful for their support.

I am proud to announce that through our doonors’ partnership and commitment to Jewish peoplehood and community we have grown the Federation Annual Campaign to over $8.9 million!

Here is a breakdown of the $8.9 million total:

$7.8 million to support programs and services delivered in our local community and in Israel;

$1.1 million in special project funding to support programs that meet high priority community needs aligned with the 2020 Strategic Priorities; and

$80,000 to support the work of specific agencies as a result of donors directing a portion of their increased gifts through the Plus Giving program.

Thanks to our donors’ commitment to tzedakah and tikkun olam, we are making sure that people hit hard by the high cost of living can participate fully in Jewish community life. We know that when money is tight, Jewish choices are often the first to go. Now, our partners can continue to provide robust subsidies, so that families can enroll their children in Jewish educational programs, seniors can receive the services they need, and our most vulnerable community members will be able to access the social services on which they rely.

As our community continues to spread out, we are reaching out and making sure Jewish community life flourishes across the region. Through our Connect Me In initiative, we are working with our partners to develop Jewish programs in Squamish, Coquitlam, Langley and all points in between. The Langley Hebrew School is going strong for the second year in a row, and we are preparing to launch a similar program in Coquitlam.

In Israel we are reaching more at-risk youth in new and innovative ways, so they can overcome barriers and reach their full potential. And we’re investing in leadership programs like Galil-Up, a Tel-Hai University program that helps the region’s best and brightest young adults gain the skills they need to propel our Upper Galilee partnership region to new heights.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors. Thank you again for keeping our community strong and vibrant.

Todah rabbah,
