The singer and the left-wing activist does not believe in the boycott movement. In a conversation with Galatz she said that “BDS’s aim is not a peace agreement with the Palestinians, otherwise they would not have attacked Israelis acting for peace”

While everyone is talking about the Anti-Israel Boycott movement, the BDS, the singer and peace activist has something to say about the subject too. In a conversation with Yoaz Hendel on his program “Night Edition” Nini explained that she does not support BDS, and in her opinion the organization’s aim is not a peace agreement in the Middle East.

“Their aim is to hurt Israel in any way possible – that is the reason I am against what they do”, said Achinoam. “They act in a way that is neither wise and nor effective, unless the purpose of the BDS is to not achieve peace and an agreement with the Palestinians, because if that was their purpose, they would not have attacked Israelis who work for peace.”

She told that she herself experienced the effects of the boycotts activities. “I feel it. I suffer from it very much. They protest where I perform, and ask festivals and producers to cancel my shows. They probably know that I am a left-wing activist, but they do not make a distinction between the left and the right. That is exactly the problem. They did not achieve depth of thought”.

“One time I talked to such a movement when I appeared in the north of Spain, in the Basque region. I met with them and opened with the question “tell me, what are you going to do about the ETA, the terrorist movement that wants to achieve independence for the region?” They answered that it is very complicated.”

“I replied – ‘I got it, your conflict is very complicated, and you don’t agree about it, but you agree about our conflict? Our conflict is not complicated? You know about me more than I do about myself?” They were quiet for a few minutes. In the end they had a smaller protest than planned. In other places I succeeded in cancelling the BDS activities with a prior conversation, but it is hard, it is like emptying the sea with a spoon.”
